With the advent of the New Year, at AFNCI, we went over all the most important accomplishments during the elapsed year thanks to the support of our charity partners. Throughout 2019 we were able to pursue our mission of supporting cancer patients.
Supporting cancer patients at the National Cancer Institute, NCI:
Supporting the 57357 group:
Hospital 57357 is the Association’s biggest projects as it built it, equipped it and is still supporting it as a part of its main mission of offering world quality cancer care for free. This is in addition to supporting its future expansion projects. Throughout 2019, AFNCI’s pursued its support to the cost of establishing and equipping a pathology lab in its first stage, establishing and equipping storage area for the Hospital including storage for medications. Meanwhile the Association pursued offering safe free blood to children with cancer and vaccination for healthy children, support awareness initiatives (such as home without cancer along with the Hospital and the Egyptian Cancer Network, ECN-USA) and sponsored educational scholarships such as the clinical pharmacy fellowship program. Also, the cooperation between the Association and Hospital 57357 continues aiming to transfer the Hospital’s leading experience in clinical pharmacy to all of Egypt’s hospitals which started by Ismailia Tumor Hospital and Ahmed Maher educational hospital, to guaranty giving the patient the safe , effective and accurate treatment dose and to rationalize medications consumption.
In the field of safeguarding the health of Egyptians, some goals are achieved some others are in progress:
As a proactive step to avoid diseases, and in line with our role in fighting all pollution sources to eliminate the cancer of poverty, ignorance and sickness, and to offer a decent life to our people in Egypt’s villages, the Association took part in an initiative to develop and upgrade the basic infrastructure of 100 poor villages in Egypt’s governorates. Thanks be to God and to your support, we have:
Schools’ development initiative:
The Association sponsored an initiative to develop educational buildings, according to a cooperation protocol with the Ministry of Education. The upgrading of bathrooms in 12 schools and educational complexes are completed. With your support we could reach students in 475 schools in Egypt’s governorates to educate them about cancer prevention guidelines. We could also offer them school bags containing their needs of school supplies along with health awareness booklets.
Our gratitude to all of our donors, with your support we will reach more achievements in the New Year.
