Throughout 2019 we\nwere able to pursue our mission of supporting cancer patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Supporting\ncancer patients at the National Cancer\nInstitute, NCI:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>&nbsp;The association pursued its efforts of providing part of the needed medications and\nchemotherapy to the National Cancer Institute (NCI)\n<\/li><li>AFNCI is still operating\nthe service of a fleet of vehicles to transfer patients and workers between the\ninstitute\u2019s branches since 2010. <\/li><li>The blood donation affairs\ndepartment held more blood donation campaigns to support patients of the NCI, Hospital 57357, Cairo and Tanta branches,\nCairo University\u2019s hospitals and the Egyptian Red Crescent\u2019s hospitals which\nresulted in offering free safe blood to\ncancer patients which contributes to granting them increased\nchances of recovery, God willing. <\/li><li>AFNCI continues to support\nthe NCI by offering it a work team consisting of 92 employees in addition to a security team where the Association is committed to paying their salaries besides\nsponsoring maintenance of the new out-patient clinics that was established and equipped previously in favor\nof the institute. <\/li><li>Through a contract with a\ncleaning company, it offers cleaning services for the institute, the out-patient clinics and\nthe one day treatment unit. <\/li><li>AFNCI offered the Institute\nits needs of medical equipment, such as the CT equipment <\/li><li>Upgrading\nthe operations rooms, the chemotherapy rooms, the library and the blood bank\nand equipping the one-day surgery hospital. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Supporting the\n57357 group:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hospital 57357 is the Association\u2019s biggest projects as it built it,\nequipped it and is\nstill supporting it as a part of its main mission of offering world quality cancer care\nfor free. This is in addition to supporting its future expansion projects.\nThroughout 2019, AFNCI\u2019s pursued its support\nto the cost of establishing and equipping a\npathology lab in its first stage, establishing and equipping storage area for\nthe Hospital including storage for medications.\nMeanwhile the Association pursued offering safe free blood to children with\ncancer and vaccination for healthy children, support awareness initiatives\n(such as home without cancer along with the Hospital and the Egyptian Cancer\nNetwork, ECN-USA) and sponsored educational scholarships such as the clinical\npharmacy fellowship program. Also,the\ncooperation between the Association and Hospital 57357 continues aiming to\ntransfer the Hospital\u2019s leading experience in clinical pharmacy to all of\nEgypt\u2019s hospitals which started by Ismailia Tumor Hospital and Ahmed Maher\neducational hospital, to guaranty giving the patient the safe , effective and &nbsp;accurate treatment dose and to rationalize medications consumption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>In the field of safeguarding\nthe health of Egyptians, some goals\nare achieved some others are in progress:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a\nproactive step to avoid diseases, and in line with\nour role in fighting all pollution sources to eliminate the cancer of poverty,\nignorance and sickness, and to offer a decent life to our people in Egypt\u2019s\nvillages, the Association took part in an initiative to develop and upgrade the basic infrastructure of 100 poor\nvillages in Egypt\u2019s governorates. Thanks be to God\nand to your support, we have:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Extended sanitary sewage\nconnections to 8 villages in the governorates of Suhag and Elmenya. <\/li><li>Established a drinking\nwater station to serve a population of 50,000 in the villages of Abu Diab East\nand West and 22 hamlets in Deshna center, Qena governorate<\/li><li>Established a complete\nsewage network for Alkola village and its three hamlets in Suhag governorate<\/li><li>Established a complete\nsewage network for the villages of Meghaizal Tower, Ezbat Alsokary, the Gren\nIsland and Abu Khashaba, Metobas center, Kafr Alsheikh governorate<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Schools\u2019 development initiative:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;\n<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The\nAssociation sponsored an initiative to develop educational buildings, according\nto a cooperation protocol with the Ministry of Education. The upgrading of bathrooms in 12 schools and\neducational complexes are completed. With your support we could reach\nstudents in 475 schools in Egypt\u2019s governorates to educate them about cancer prevention guidelines.\nWe could also offer them school bags containing their needs &nbsp;of school supplies along with health\nawareness booklets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our\ngratitude to all of our donors, with your support we will reach more\nachievements in the New Year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With &nbsp;the advent of the New Year, at AFNCI, we went over all the &nbsp;most important accomplishments during the elapsed year thanks to the support of our charity partners.
